Visiting Professor in Korean Studies
UCLA
The Center for Korean Studies at UCLA, with the generous support of the Academy of Korean Studies, is seeking to host a visiting professor from Latin America to offer a course or courses in a Korea-related social science field not covered by our faculty during either our winter quarter (January 5-March 20, 2009) or spring quarter (March 30-June 12, 2009).
We are open to either quarter long or shorter intensive courses, but first preference will be given to applications for quarter long courses. The ability to teach an undergraduate course in English is required. The exact rate of pay will be determined according to UCLA pay scales, but will be some in the range of $10,000. We will also provide a housing allowance and round trip airfare, subject to final approval of the budget by the Academy of Korean Studies.
Interested persons should submit a cv and a course proposal by September 20, 2009 to He-Shin Kim at the following e-mail address: hkim@international.ucla.edu. Please contact Ms. Kim if you have any questions or need further information.
